CMDI is a young, small organization that pretty much works off of the kitchen tables of the founders - as did such notables as Heifer Project or the Central Asia Institute, at first.  We have not been vetted by the charitable giving monitors.  If you are visiting this website and are unfamiliar with us and our work, then as far as you know, this is just a web site with a "donate" button.  While we appreciate your spontaneous donation or purchase, we also invite you to get to know us better before you invest in our work.  We're real people, whose existence and work can be readily verified, and we're happy to correspond, talk, or visit with you.  We pledge to use your money wisely and to supply (to the best of our ability) quality handicraft products.  We assure you that the items we market are indeed artisan-crafted by people we work with directly.  If we find that some of our suppliers are buying and reselling "mass produced" items, then we weed those out.  Thank you for your interest and confidence.  Contact us with questions.
